Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana, renowned for its authentic Neapolitan pizzas, is set to open a new pizzeria in the heart of Prestwich this December. The new location will take over the former Barclays Bank building on Bury New Road, which has been vacant since August 2022, creating 40 local jobs in the process.
The 3,000 sq. ft. venue will offer seating for 150 guests, including a 30-seat covered courtyard, preserving many of the building’s original features. Prestwich will be the eighth Rudy’s location in Greater Manchester and the first in North Manchester, as the brand expands its neighbourhood dining concept across the city’s suburbs following the success of its other venues in Didsbury, Sale, and Altrincham.
Rudy’s has garnered a strong following since its launch in 2015 in Ancoats, quickly becoming a Manchester staple. The new Prestwich venue will serve its signature pizzas, famed for their light, airy crusts and high-quality ingredients sourced from Naples, the birthplace of pizza. The menu will feature classic pizzas such as the Marinara, Margherita, and Calabrese, alongside rotating specials crafted every six weeks using fresh, seasonal ingredients.
Rudy’s follows traditional Neapolitan pizza-making techniques, using three key ingredients directly sourced from Italy: Caputo ‘00’ flour, San Marzano tomatoes grown on the plains of Mount Vesuvius, and Fior di Latte mozzarella. These authentic components ensure that Rudy’s offers the true taste of Naples in each of its pizzerias.
In addition to its pizzas, Rudy’s Prestwich will have a well-stocked bar serving iconic Italian spritzes, Poretti lager, and classic cocktails. The venue’s relaxed atmosphere will make it a welcoming spot for family meals, social gatherings, and casual dining experiences.
