Zedwell, London’s sleep-centric hotel brand, has unveiled its latest concept directly above Piccadilly Circus Underground Station. Launching with almost 1,000 sleeping pods across five floors, Zedwell Capsule Hotel Piccadilly Circus is now the world’s largest capsule hotel and represents a major evolution in affordable urban hospitality.
Situated inside the reimagined London Pavilion, the hotel sits within moments of the West End, Soho, Chinatown and Covent Garden, offering guests one of the most central locations in the capital – at prices starting from just £30 per night.

Designed for comfort, privacy, and rest, each capsule is crafted from natural oak and features a single Hypnos mattress, Egyptian cotton bedding, individual climate control, ambient lighting, and sound insulation. Pods are designed to provide an uninterrupted sleep experience while maximising space efficiency. Female-only dormitories are available alongside mixed pods, with dorm sizes ranging from 8 to 100 capsules.

The hotel offers a range of communal features, including secure luggage storage, co-working lounges, and streamlined bathrooms. Guests can also rent towels and padlocks from reception for a small additional fee.

For those unfamiliar with the format, a capsule hotel provides a compact, self-contained sleeping space. The concept, popularised in Japan, has seen growing interest across global cities where convenience, affordability, and location are high on travellers’ priority lists.

Criterion Hospitality, the group behind Zedwell, has positioned this project as a new benchmark in modern urban accommodation. It’s designed to appeal to solo travellers, commuters, corporate groups, and tourists seeking a central London stay without the traditional hotel price tag.
“London is one of the most exciting cities in the world, but it can also be overwhelming and expensive,” said Halima Aziz, Head of Hotels at Criterion Hospitality. “We are taking the capsule hotel concept to the next level, one that combines an exceptional location with a focus on simplicity, thoughtful design, and the highest quality of sleep. Our aim is to create a welcoming, design-focused space that balances accessibility with privacy and quality rest, right in the centre of the city.”

Sustainability is another cornerstone of the development. By repurposing an existing heritage building, Zedwell has minimised its environmental impact, part of the brand’s broader commitment to urban regeneration and responsible design.
With Piccadilly Circus welcoming over 100 million visitors each year, the hotel is expected to see high demand. Further expansions, including additional floors and guest amenities, are already in the pipeline and will be unveiled in the coming months.
Zedwell Capsule Hotel Piccadilly Circus marks a bold step in redefining hospitality for a new generation of city travellers – bringing simplicity, design and rest to the heart of London.
