The Derby London City, part of Curio Collection by Hilton, has opened on Great Tower Street, adding a new lifestyle-led hotel to the City of London.
Owned by Dominus and operated through Dominus Hospitality, the hotel is located within walking distance of landmarks including the Tower of London and St Paul’s Cathedral, positioning it within the Square Mile’s business and tourism districts.

The hotel’s identity draws on British heritage, with its name referencing the bowler hat, historically associated with the City and its financial institutions. This narrative continues throughout the property, which integrates references to the building’s past and the surrounding area.
Rooms and Guest Experience
The Derby offers 234 guest rooms, including 13 suites designed to provide views across the City skyline. Interiors follow a contemporary approach while incorporating heritage-inspired elements aligned with the wider concept.
A focal point within the arrival experience is The Treasury Wall, an installation referencing the site’s former use as a bank. The hotel also introduces a daily ritual, The Golden Hour, held at 5:10pm, reflecting the building’s address and centred around a featured cocktail.

Food and Beverage
The food and beverage offer is anchored by Rycrofte’s Restaurant, Coffeehouse and Bar, which overlooks St Dunstan in the East Church Garden. The concept draws inspiration from Sir John Rycrofte and presents a contemporary interpretation of British cuisine within a setting adjacent to one of the City’s historic green spaces.

Meetings and Events
Meeting and events facilities include two boardrooms accommodating 10 and 20 guests, alongside a private dining room for up to 30 and event space for up to 70, both with views towards St Dunstan in the East.
Additional Amenities
Additional amenities include a 24-hour gym and a programme of curated experiences, including the Mercer’s Market, a monthly event showcasing local artists and makers, referencing the area’s historic links to the Mercers’ Company.
The Derby London City is now open, representing a new addition to the City’s growing mix of lifestyle-focused hospitality destinations.
