Sovereign Centros, the property development and management company, has revealed that the popular chicken wing restaurant Wingstop is slated to open its next West Midlands location at Merry Hill later this year.

Wingstop will occupy a 2,650 sq ft space on the upper mall of Merry Hill, strategically positioned opposite the recently inaugurated wagamama. This addition aims to diversify the range of dining options available, particularly in the destination’s burgeoning leisure quarter. This leisure hub has been further enhanced by the recent launch of Hollywood Bowl, creating a family-friendly nucleus for dining and entertainment.

The leisure quarter at Merry Hill is part of a broader strategy to revitalize the shopping centre, which has seen significant investments in recent years.

With a seating capacity for 70 patrons, Wingstop Merry Hill will offer its signature range of classic wings. The menu will also feature an array of boneless wings, tenders, and chicken burgers, complemented by sides like seasoned fries and house-made dips. The restaurant promises to cater to diverse palates, offering 10 unique seasoning options ranging from the sweet and tangy Hawaiian to the fiery Atomic.

Alistair Winning, Asset Manager at Sovereign Centros, stated: “Wingstop has international renown, so it makes for an ideal addition to our culinary line-up at Merry Hill. Alongside the successful opening of Wagamama earlier this year and Hollywood Bowl more recently, the upcoming arrival of Wingstop is evidence of the continued growth we’re seeing at Merry Hill, particularly for our new leisure quarter. We look forward to seeing Wingstop open later this year, adding an extra layer of choice to an already incredibly diverse collection of brands here.”

Tom Grogan, Co-Founder & Director of Wingstop UK, added: “Launching our latest Wingstop location at Merry Hill represents not only our commitment to expanding Wingstop nationwide but also our dedication to becoming a staple in the West Midlands. Having already been warmly embraced in Birmingham, we’re thrilled to bring our unique flavours and experience to even more fans in the region. Joining the vibrant community of F&B retailers within the destination is a prospect we’re eagerly looking forward to.”

This development comes on the heels of recent openings like wagamama and Hollywood Bowl, as well as the signing of fried chicken restaurant Sides. Together, these establishments are shaping Merry Hill into an exciting hub for dining and entertainment.

JLL and Time Retail Partners represent Merry Hill, while Brasier Freeth acted for Wingstop UK.
