Ikos Resorts has confirmed the opening of Ikos Kissamos, its first resort in Crete and eighth luxury all inclusive property, set to welcome guests in April 2026. This launch coincides with the brand’s tenth anniversary and its continued presence in the premium hospitality market.
The €150 million project is the most significant luxury hotel development in Crete to date. Located in the Chania region, approximately 45 minutes from the airport, the resort spans 53 acres along Kissamos Bay. It will feature 414 rooms, suites, bungalows and villas with views of the sea, gardens or private pools.

The design reflects Crete’s natural environment and cultural heritage, drawing inspiration from Minoan art, Mediterranean architecture and the island’s earthy palette. Interiors incorporate wood, stone and natural fibres, with terracotta and olive tones enhancing the sense of place. The overall aesthetic offers relaxed elegance rooted in local character.

Ikos Kissamos will include seven à la carte restaurants led by Michelin starred chefs, a buffet, three outdoor bars, eight pools, an Ikos Spa by Anne Semonin and a range of sports facilities such as tennis and padel courts. Family amenities and children’s clubs are also part of the resort’s offering.
Guests will have access to the “Local Discovery” programme, which provides complimentary car hire and curated experiences across Crete. Highlights include Balos Lagoon, the historic port of Falasarna and Samaria Gorge, each popular for their natural landscapes and historical interest.

Sustainability is central to the resort’s development. Ikos Kissamos is targeting LEED Gold certification and follows the group’s environmental framework, Ikos Green. Goals include net zero carbon emissions by 2030, removal of single use plastics, zero waste to landfill, full water reuse and composting of organic material. These efforts aim to support both environmental protection and local community engagement.
The outdoor areas have been designed as interactive landscapes. Guests can explore lavender gardens, olive groves, sensory trails and quiet zones such as hammock gardens and yoga decks. These spaces promote wellbeing and connection with the natural surroundings while enhancing biodiversity.

Construction is ongoing, with completion expected by early 2026. Over 1,000 people are involved in the build, with around 750 jobs created. Once open, Ikos Kissamos is expected to become a key contributor to tourism and economic growth in the western region of Crete.
Ikos Kissamos joins the existing Ikos Resorts portfolio across Greece and Spain, reinforcing the brand’s focus on beachfront locations, premium service and sustainability. The resort will offer guests an experience rooted in comfort, nature and cultural identity, in one of the Mediterranean’s most visited destinations.
