Braehead, a prominent retail and leisure destination in the UK, managed by Global Mutual and owned by property company SGS, has recently enriched its food and beverage (F&B) portfolio with the introduction of Chopstix and Tinderbox. These openings mark a significant expansion of the centre’s dining offerings, further establishing Braehead as a key destination for both shopping and leisure outside Glasgow.

Chopstix, a well-regarded noodle bar with a presence across the UK and Ireland, inaugurated its new 1,318 sq ft outlet in the upper food mall yesterday. Specialising in Pan-Asian quick-service cuisine, the store adds a new dimension to the fast dining options available to visitors.

Following closely is Tinderbox, an esteemed independent coffee shop from Glasgow, which opened its doors in December. Located in the lower-level food mall and spanning 2,731 sq ft, Tinderbox offers high-quality, hand-roasted coffee alongside a selection of locally sourced and produced goods. Founded in 1998, it’s celebrated for its contribution to Glasgow’s vibrant coffee culture.

These new establishments join an impressive roster of F&B options at Braehead, including well-known brands like Five Guys, Nandos, YO! Sushi, Costa, Pizza Hut, and Prezzo, enhancing the centre’s appeal as a dining destination.

Braehead itself is a major retail and leisure venue just outside Glasgow, covering over 1.1 million sq ft and attracting a catchment area of around 2.1 million people. It houses a diverse mix of both globally renowned and exciting local and independent brands, from M&S and Apple to Primark, TK Maxx, and NEXT.

Steve Gray, Head of European Retail Asset Management at Global Mutual, expressed enthusiasm about the new additions: “We are constantly looking at ways to keep our F&B offer fresh and exciting for our guests – so we are delighted to welcome Chopstix and Tinderbox to the centre. Tinderbox is a hugely popular outfit and a great addition – a local business, selling local goods. Chopstix, meanwhile, brings something new, increasing variety in terms of quick dining options. We know shoppers are excited to see both open their doors. More than ever, retail is about the experience. Guests visit us not just to shop – but for a ‘day out’. A compelling F&B offer is therefore a real footfall driver.”

The inclusion of Chopstix and Tinderbox at Braehead underscores the centre’s commitment to providing a diverse and enriching shopping and dining experience, catering to the evolving preferences of its visitors.
