This autumn, The Grand Hotel Birmingham has introduced an exclusive Afternoon Tea experience in collaboration with Jo Malone London, bringing together the sensory worlds of fragrance and flavour. Running until 2 November 2025, the event offers a limited-time culinary journey that blends fine patisserie with some of Jo Malone London’s most iconic scents.

Crafted by the hotel’s culinary team under the direction of Head Chef Brad French, the afternoon tea menu features savoury delicacies and patisserie creations, culminating in a range of Petits Gâteaux each inspired by a different Jo Malone London fragrance.

Among the savoury selections are:

  • Roast beef on onion bread with horseradish emulsion
  • Cucumber and roquette mascarpone on white bread
  • Smoked salmon with cornichon and dill crème fraîche
  • Goats cheese with onion marmalade and crispy shallots

The patisserie portion highlights three fragrance-themed petits gâteaux:

  • Citrus Sablé Sandwich, a blend of mandarin sponge, lime and mandarin crémeux and basil diplomat, echoing the bright citrus notes of Jo Malone London’s signature scents
  • Blackberry Tart, with blackberry compote, bay leaf ganache and olive oil sponge, reflecting deeper, earthy tones
  • Pear Gâteau, featuring vanilla sponge, pear compote, jasmine mousse and pear gel, inspired by the Pear & Freesia fragrance

To complete the menu, guests are served freshly baked Goji Berry and White Quinoa Scones, accompanied by seasonal preserves and Rodda’s clotted cream.

The Jo Malone Afternoon Tea is available Wednesday to Sunday, between 12pm and 5pm, priced at £70 per person. Each booking includes a £25 voucher redeemable in-store towards Jo Malone London products.
