From 24 October, Orelle, the popular skyline restaurant located on the 24th floor of 103 Colmore Row in Birmingham, will be renamed 24 Stories. The rebrand aligns the venue with The Evolv Collection’s wider “Stories” concept, joining 20 Stories in Manchester and 14 Stories in London as part of a growing portfolio of elevated dining destinations.

Positioned as the highest restaurant in the Midlands, 24 Stories will continue to offer sweeping, panoramic views of Birmingham and its surroundings, alongside a seasonally led menu and a cocktail list curated by some of the city’s most experienced mixologists.

The restaurant will maintain its core offering while introducing new dishes inspired by Birmingham’s culinary heritage. Highlights include a Beef Croquette with hot sauce, referencing The Bullring and the former HP Sauce factory, Day Boat Cod nodding to the city’s historical fish market, and a Saddleback Pork Cutlet served with bacon cake and black pudding, inspired by Black Country traditions.

Desserts have also been refreshed to celebrate the city’s local icons. The menu will now include a Bournville Chocolate Fondant, in tribute to the origins of Cadbury’s chocolate, and a Sticky Toffee Pudding served with custard poured tableside, honouring the Custard Factory in Digbeth.

Orelle Interiors

Despite the name change, 24 Stories will retain some of Orelle’s most popular menu items. Returning dishes include Tuna Tartare, Corn-fed chicken supreme and the Porterhouse sharing steak. The drinks menu will also remain familiar to regulars, with bestsellers such as the Rhubarb & Custard—made with WildJac Gin from The Wyre Forest—and the Victoria Spritz, named after Victoria Square, continuing to feature prominently.

Richard Chiswell, General Manager at 24 Stories, commented:
“Orelle has been a favourite dining destination for the people of Birmingham and beyond since opening and we want to reassure guests that the change in name to 24 Stories won’t affect the exemplary experience that they have every time they visit. In fact, there will be more reasons to visit with new dishes and drinks to try, without forgetting some of the old favourites. We can’t wait for everyone to experience it.”

As part of the relaunch celebrations, the restaurant will host the return of the Blackout Dinner on Sunday 26 October. Dubbed The Lost Hour, the event embraces the hour gained when the clocks go back, offering a multi-course, low-waste dinner served entirely by candlelight.

Held in partnership with Lost Explorer Mezcal, the evening features a menu paired with exclusive mezcal cocktails, served in a power-free setting that enhances views of the city’s skyline at night. The event is part of the restaurant’s ongoing focus on sustainability and energy conservation. Lost Explorer Mezcal was recently recognised by Forbes in April 2025 as one of eight eco-friendly alcohol brands committed to sustainability.

Martin Williams, CEO at The Evolv Collection, added:
“Orelle has been a cornerstone of The Evolv Collection’s success story, and we are confident that 24 Stories will continue to go from strength to strength. Creating the Stories brand is a really exciting evolution and part of our strategic vision for The Evolv Collection. By creating opportunities for all three Stories restaurants to work collaboratively, we are hoping to offer exciting new dining experiences that honour the past while embracing an ambitious future.”

Looking ahead, the formation of the Stories brand marks the beginning of a wider expansion plan for The Evolv Collection, with future skyline restaurants expected to launch in other UK cities, continuing the brand’s focus on combining elevated menus with exceptional views.
