Seymour Place in Marylebone has recently become home to a new culinary destination, Florencio Pizza, situated at number 14. This establishment, a pizzeria known for its dedication to high-quality ingredients and seasonal produce, adds to the assortment of independent dining venues on The Portman Estate.

Spanning 1,370 square feet, Florencio provides a dining experience across two levels, including a ground-floor area and a basement space. The restaurant is designed to accommodate 35 guests, and its layout is thoughtfully arranged around a custom-built pizza oven, which forms a focal point at the front of the establishment. Additionally, patrons have the opportunity to explore the on-site wine cellar.

The inception of Florencio is attributed to Chef Patron Diego Jacquet, who is also recognized for his role in the well-received Argentine grill, ZOILO. Florencio’s introduction to Marylebone’s diverse gastronomic landscape is a testament to Jacquet’s culinary expertise and vision.

The Portman Estate’s acquisition of Florencio signifies its commitment to enriching the Marylebone area as a dynamic neighbourhood. This commitment is further evidenced by the Estate’s focus on nurturing independent businesses, contributing to the overall vitality and appeal of London’s West End.

In close proximity to Florencio, Seymour Place also hosts The Chuffed Store, a festive pop-up shop located at number 20. Open from Tuesday to Sunday, The Chuffed Store offers a unique shopping experience, featuring the works of over 50 British artisans. This includes a diverse array of crafts such as jewellery, ceramics, and textiles. The store provides a tranquil alternative to the typical hustle of holiday shopping, especially during its Thursday evening candlelit shopping events.

Adjacent to The Chuffed Store, a family-oriented attraction named ‘Letters to Santa’ invites children to engage in the festive spirit. Located at 24 Seymour Place, this initiative encourages young ones to post their Christmas wishes in a special copper mailbox, with each letter granting entry into a unique Marylebone experience. This includes a family stay at a local five-star hotel and vouchers from several Marylebone businesses, totalling over £2,000 in value. Participants also gain access to exclusive offers redeemable across Portman Marylebone in January.

Tom Knight, Portfolio Director at The Portman Estate, expressed excitement about the addition of Florencio to Seymour Place, highlighting the Estate’s ongoing efforts to enhance Portman Marylebone as a prime destination. The Estate’s long history of adaptation and growth is seen as pivotal in maintaining the West End’s reputation as a world-class destination.

Diego Jacquet, sharing his vision for Florencio, emphasizes the pizzeria’s aim to blend exceptional service with a deep passion for pizza. By utilizing top-tier ingredients and meticulously sourced cheeses, flours, and tomatoes, Jacquet aspires to create a local pizzeria that resonates with patrons through its dedication to quality and flavour.
