NEMA Design Hotel & Spa has announced the forthcoming addition of 35 new luxury suites, set to open in spring 2026. Situated along the Aegean coastline in Crete, the adults-only boutique retreat continues to develop its offering for travellers in search of a slower, design-led hospitality experience, just 20 minutes from Heraklion International Airport.

With its existing focus on creating a sanctuary for guests to step away from the noise and pace of daily life, the new suites are designed to encourage a deeper connection to nature and self. NEMA positions itself as a destination where simplicity, stillness and natural rhythm guide the guest experience.

The next phase of development will see the debut of EÉSO by NEMA on 1 May 2026. This major expansion will introduce new suites, including four new ultra-luxury categories. The EÉSO development marks a continuation of NEMA’s approach to combining refined comfort with privacy and understated sophistication.

The expansion will also bring the addition of two key facilities. NÁ LE MA, a new dining destination, will present what is described as “an immersive gastronomic journey where contemporary artistry meets Cretan heritage”. Complementing this is AÉQU, a wellness spa concept designed to provide balance through curated treatments and tranquil spaces, embracing a holistic wellbeing philosophy.

“This marks the beginning of a bold new era of ultra-hospitality for NEMA,” said Giorgos Vasilas, Director of Sales and Marketing at NEMA.

The 2026 expansion follows the same guiding principles seen in the September suite launch. Each of the new accommodations has been conceived to promote a slower, more mindful pace of living. Designed by Dimitri Tsigos of OMNIVIEW, the architecture combines contemporary design with Cretan influences. Interiors feature earthy materials and fluid layouts that transition between indoor and outdoor living, emphasising natural light and expansive Aegean views.

Sustainability and local craftsmanship play a central role in the design approach. The development reflects NEMA’s broader commitment to creating a modern yet sensory-rich environment, with attention to ecological impact and regional heritage.

Reservations for EÉSO by NEMA are expected to open later in 2025. Availability will be limited to maintain a highly curated and personalised guest experience. In the meantime, NEMA Design Hotel & Spa will continue to welcome guests with its established blend of service, style and location, as anticipation builds for the upcoming additions.
