State of Play Hospitality’s London-based ping pong concept Bounce has rebranded and opened its first new venue since the pandemic, within the redeveloped and iconic Battersea Power Station.

State of Play is a leading player in rapidly growing experiential leisure industry and in launching Bounce ping pong in 2012, sparked the growing consumer trend in consumers seeking activity-led nights out.

Bounce’s latest opening comes with a complete brand transformation. From an elevated food and beverage offering featuring a new sourdough pizza menu and expertly crafted cocktails, to a revamped website and social media channels with bold new colours and graphics, the brand is serving up a fresh new personality.

Bounce’s modernisation delivers the ultimate party experience for friends, celebrations and colleagues. Bounce has redesigned the venue with a mix of minimalist and classic retro sporty decor, whilst bolstering the home of ping pong with new games for the perfect blend of relaxation and friendly competition led by their legendary entertainers, the Bounce Games Gurus.

Inside the new venue, the design boasts a concrete tiled floor and concrete-effect walls, to keep in line with Battersea Power Station’s iconic industrial style. Amongst its new, elevated foundations, Bounce has kept its playful and fun edge with gymnasium-style lines across the floors and vibrant pops of colour that can be found throughout the venue on each activity table. Modern touches can be found in the bold artwork and contemporary wooden panelling that warms the space.

Shaking up a mix of new cocktails, Bounce collaborated with Dalston-based cocktail bar Three Sheets to introduce a craft range of cocktails to support the launch at the slick new leisure site. Designed to reflect the elements of fun and play that define Bounce, the revamped menu showcases an exquisite selection of cocktails with a touch of elegance and high-quality craftsmanship.

In conjunction with the new drinks, Bounce has also refreshed its food offering, to provide Battersea visitors with fresh sourdough pizzas, from the classics to innovative creations, and sharing bites to be held one handed so the games don’t have to stop.

With 12 ping pong tables, two shuffleboards and two Beer Pong tables, there’s plenty of space for walk-ins or exclusive parties for up to 300 people to play. Bounce Battersea will also be home to Bounce’s high tech digital platform where customers can power up their play with multiple games including ping pong with automated scoring.

South London’s first Bounce venue follows the Northern Line’s extension to Battersea Power Station in 2021, sparking huge economic growth in the area. Five million visitors and over 20 openings have ensued since the Grade II listed building opened its doors to the public for the first time in history in October 2022. As the former power station continues its transformation into a vibrant residential, commercial, and leisure space, Bounce Battersea is the ideal destination to party all week with doors open until midnight Thursday – Saturday; as well as a place to play for under-18’s before 6pm and all-day Sunday.

Battersea is the third London venue for Bounce, joining Farringdon and Old Street, and the group’s 11th overall across its four brands.

Toby Harris, CEO of State of Play Hospitality, operator of Bounce, said: “I’m thrilled to be opening an all-new look for Bounce with our third London venue in the heart of the iconic Battersea Power Station. With the brand thriving, and more relevant than ever, it’s long been a goal to relaunch the concept with a fresh new design and I’m over the moon with the results. Whilst dialling into all the energy and playfulness long associated with Bounce, creatively we’ve also leant further into the aesthetics of ping pong than before. It’s been a long and tricky project so I’m incredibly grateful to the State of Play team for their commitment to bringing our new vision for Bounce to life.”

Bounce pledges to provide opportunities for the Battersea community by hiring local people to work in the venue. In addition to supporting the youth charity Devas and Young Urban Arts Foundation (YUAF), Bounce will also continue to support its mental health charity partner, the Charlie Waller Trust, with special events across the year.
