Lilibet’s, a new seafood restaurant from restaurateur Ross Shonhan, has opened its doors at 17 Bruton Street in Mayfair, the historic birthplace of Britain’s most celebrated princess. The venue introduces a fresh approach to seafood dining, combining British elegance with Mediterranean influence in one of London’s most storied neighbourhoods.

The space has been designed by Russell Sage Studio to reflect the character of a refined private home. Spread across a series of intimate rooms, the 160 cover restaurant includes botanical salons, fire-lit dining areas and a glowing marble cocktail bar. Each room is styled as though part of the imagined residence at Number 17, with layered interiors that pair traditional design elements with warmer Mediterranean touches.

The menu at Lilibet’s focuses on seasonal seafood, prepared and presented in inventive ways. Highlights include a dedicated Oyster Bar featuring the daily catch, turbot pil pil cooked over fire at the Fireside Grill, and a Fish Triptych served in three different styles.

A distinctive part of the offering is the Unsung Heroes section of the menu. This area champions underused British species such as gurnard, squat lobster and garfish, aiming to surprise guests and encourage more sustainable choices by showcasing ingredients that are often overlooked.

Ross Shonhan, known for his work with Nobu, Zuma, Bone Daddies, Strawfire and Netsu, said of the launch,
“With Lilibet’s we wanted to create an enduring restaurant that will feel as relevant in twenty years as it does today. It’s about great hospitality, British ingredients, Mediterranean influence and doing things properly with personality.”

Lilibet’s is now open for dinner, with lunch service set to begin on Wednesday 1 October 2025. With a focus on seasonality, sustainability and layered hospitality, the restaurant brings a new energy to Mayfair while nodding to the historic significance of its address.
