After almost three decades at No. 1 Poultry, Coq d’Argent is preparing to move to a new riverside rooftop restaurant overlooking the Thames and St Paul’s Cathedral.
The Evolv Collection has announced that Coq d’Argent will relocate from No. 1 Poultry to One Millennium Bridge, with the new riverside restaurant expected to open in January 2027.
A New Rooftop Home Beside The Thames
Founded by Sir Terence Conran in 1998, Coq d’Argent has occupied the rooftop of the James Stirling-designed No. 1 Poultry building for almost three decades. The French restaurant is known for its rooftop gardens overlooking the Bank of England, alongside a menu centred on French and Burgundian cooking.
The move follows plans for a major redevelopment of No. 1 Poultry. Coq d’Argent will continue trading at its existing location until the relocation takes place.

The new restaurant will occupy the rooftop of One Millennium Bridge, a retrofit riverside development at the northern end of the Millennium Bridge. The building includes rooftop gardens designed by Chelsea Flower Show gold medallist Andy Sturgeon.
The restaurant will have terraces overlooking the Thames, with views north towards St Paul’s Cathedral. According to The Evolv Collection, the new venue will retain elements associated with the existing restaurant, including its gardens, French cooking and wine list.
“Coq d’Argent is woven into the fabric of the City – a restaurant where deals have been struck, engagements celebrated and countless bottles of great Burgundy shared for nearly thirty years. Sir Terence Conran created something truly iconic at No. 1 Poultry, and it was essential that its next home be every bit as extraordinary. One Millennium Bridge, with its rooftop gardens and unrivalled views of St Paul’s and the Thames, is exactly that. This is not a farewell – it is the beginning of Coq d’Argent’s most exciting chapter yet. I am sure it will do Sir Terence proud”

Continuing To Trade Until The Move
The Evolv Collection is backed by Calveton and BREAL. One Millennium Bridge is co-owned by Beltane Asset Management, which has led the development’s tenant selection.
“We have selectively curated the building’s tenants and the Coq d’Argent, operated by The Evolv Collection is the perfect fit for this unique restaurant space’.
Duncan Roe Co-Founder and Partner, Beltane Asset Management
The relocation will take Coq d’Argent from its long-standing position overlooking Bank to a new rooftop setting beside the Thames, while retaining a presence within the City of London.
