Opening in the heart of the North Ari Atoll in the Maldives, Ananea Madivaru introduces a new pace of refined island living through its philosophy of “slow glamour”. The resort comprises two private islands connected by an elevated overwater walkway, offering a total of 110 villas designed to balance minimalist luxury with Maldivian elements. Each villa features its own private pool, offering either a beachfront setting or a position above the lagoon, and caters to couples, families, or groups of friends seeking tailored experiences.
Located within a private lagoon just a 20-minute seaplane journey from Velana International Airport, the setting is defined by powdery white beaches, turquoise waters, and a lively house reef. The dual-island concept separates experiences for different traveller preferences. The East island serves as the vibrant centre of the resort, home to a rejuvenating spa, Dive Centre, Kids Club, children’s pool, and the main swimming pool. Meanwhile, the North island provides a quieter environment, hosting deluxe villa categories, a recreation centre, and a curated selection of restaurants, all linked via a walkway stretching above the sea.

Guests can choose from a range of villa categories, from Beach Pool Villas and Deluxe Beach Pool Villas to Water Pool Villas and larger two- or three-bedroom residences. The resort aims to accommodate all types of getaways, from intimate retreats to multi-generational holidays, with each villa offering contemporary design and Maldivian craftsmanship.

Ananea Madivaru positions its dining as a global journey, offering nine restaurants and two bars across its islands. Highlights include The Gallery, which serves a broad international buffet, and Flame, specialising in grilled seafood. Terra e Mare delivers Mediterranean flavours in an overwater setting, while Flores explores Nikkei-inspired fusion. Teppanyaki dishes are prepared with spectacle at Ikigai, and Sting Bar offers a more casual experience with woodfired pizzas, cocktails, and live music at sunset. Guests seeking added exclusivity can opt for private in-villa dining or floating breakfasts delivered to their pools.

Activities span from the tranquil to the adventurous. Guests can explore marine life while snorkelling or diving at nearby world-renowned sites, kayak through clear lagoons, or enjoy sunset cruises and traditional cultural performances. The overwater Kandu Spa offers eight treatment rooms alongside a yoga pavilion and a fully equipped gym, supporting wellness routines against a backdrop of ocean views.

Family travellers are accommodated with the COMPASS Kids Club, a space with four indoor zones and three outdoor play areas. The programme combines creativity and exploration, allowing children to engage in beach activities, cultural crafts, and storytelling sessions. The resort states that the club is “a nurturing space that combines creativity, exploration, and fun”, allowing parents to relax knowing their children are engaged in safe, supervised play.
Prices for Ananea Madivaru start from £2,599 per person. This includes return flights, seven nights in a Deluxe Beach Pool Villa on a half-board basis, and seaplane transfers. The resort is offered in the UK exclusively by Kuoni, with customisation options available for extended stays and upgrades.
