Poolhouse has opened at 100 Liverpool Street in the City of London, introducing a large-scale social gaming concept that reinterprets traditional pool through technology, design and a hospitality-led offer.

Developed by the team behind Topgolf and Puttshack, the 21,500 sq ft venue spans two floors and includes 20 full-sized American pool tables. The concept combines elements of classic pool halls with a design direction influenced by vintage Las Vegas and mid-century Americana.

Technology-Enabled Gameplay

Central to the offer is the integration of projection-based gaming technology. Hidden projectors embedded within custom lighting installations display interactive gameplay directly onto the table surface, enabling a range of digital game modes without altering the physical format of the game.

Players can choose from four game formats, designed to accommodate different levels of experience, from traditional skill-based play to more accessible, socially driven formats. The system incorporates AI to adjust difficulty levels in real time and underpins a proprietary rating system that tracks performance and ranks players.

Design and Layout

The venue has been designed for group interaction, with each table accommodating between two and 14 players. Sessions are priced from £15 per person per hour, with flexible booking durations depending on group size.

Interiors have been delivered in collaboration with Ellis Design Studio, incorporating hand-painted finishes, bespoke carpets, distressed materials and large-scale murals. The scheme references vintage motels and traditional pool halls, anchored by a central 20-metre bar and statement lighting feature.

Food and Beverage Offer

Alongside the gaming offer, Poolhouse places emphasis on food and beverage. The menu follows a sharing format, with dishes including tacos, bao, skewers and New York-style pizza, alongside a selection of signature items such as tempura rock shrimp, beef tataki and lobster rolls.

The drinks programme has been developed in partnership with Three Sheets, focusing on a concise cocktail list that reinterprets classic serves, alongside a broader range of wines, beers and non-alcoholic options.

Two bars operate within the venue, allowing it to function as both a gaming destination and a standalone late-night hospitality space. The layout also supports private and semi-private bookings, with capacity for events ranging from small group gatherings to full venue hire for up to 650 guests.

Poolhouse is now open to the public, marking the latest addition to the growing cluster of experiential hospitality concepts in the City.
