The Beefy Boys have released the first images of their new Oxford restaurant, ahead of the official opening on Saturday 4 October at Westgate Oxford.
Ahead of the launch, diners are being given the opportunity to sign up as official “Burger Testers” during the soft opening period. Running from Monday 8 September until Friday 3 October, the initiative offers 20% off food in exchange for feedback on the dining experience. Advance booking is required, and spaces are expected to fill quickly.

The 100-cover rooftop venue combines the group’s signature style with new design touches. A central bar will serve cocktails, mocktails, ciders, spirits and beers, including bottled lager from Hawkestone Brewery, freshly tanked beer from Somer Valley Brewing and local brews from Tap Social Movement. At the rear, an open kitchen gives diners the chance to watch the team prepare the brand’s burgers. Neon signage and artwork reference the company’s journey from backyard barbeques to international competitions.
The menu will feature the brand’s signature American-inspired burgers such as The Dirty Boy and The Oklahoma Onion Boy, alongside chicken wings, tenders, loaded fries, vegetarian options, cocktails and hard shakes. The shakes, designed as boozy desserts, are positioned as a popular post-burger choice.
Founded in Hereford in 2011 by four childhood friends, The Beefy Boys gained international recognition after finishing second at the World Food Championships in Las Vegas in 2014. Since then, the business has grown to include sites in Hereford, Shrewsbury, Cheltenham, Bath and now Oxford. In November 2024, the team returned to the World Food Championships, securing fourth place globally.
Murf, one of the founders, said: “We can’t wait to finally bring The Beefy Boys to Oxford as it’s a city we’ve wanted to be in for a long time, and this new site marks a big commitment for us as it’s the furthest from our hometown of Hereford. The exclusive Burger Testers period is our way of saying thank you to the city, and giving Oxford foodies the first bite of our award-winning food.”
Brendan Hattam, Centre Director at Westgate Oxford, added: “We’re thrilled to welcome guests to The Beefy Boys’ new restaurant as it opens its doors to burger testers today. The space looks amazing, and we’re confident it will be a fantastic addition to Westgate Oxford’s food and beverage lineup.”
The new Oxford site is the fifth opening for The Beefy Boys and is expected to become a key dining destination in the city.
