Hotel Victoria Marks Coast To Coast National Trail Status
Following the Coast to Coast Path’s designation as a National Trail, Hotel Victoria is positioning its Robin Hood’s Bay location for walkers, cyclists and pet owners completing or exploring the route.
Hotel Victoria in Robin Hood’s Bay is strengthening its appeal to walkers, cyclists and outdoor travellers following the official designation of the Coast to Coast Path as England’s newest National Trail.
The 190-mile Coast to Coast Path runs from St Bees on the Irish Sea to Robin Hood’s Bay on the North Sea, passing through the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors. Its National Trail status is expected to bring renewed attention to one of England’s best-known long-distance walking routes.

At the eastern end of the trail, Hotel Victoria sits above the fishing village of Robin Hood’s Bay, with coastal views and access to several walking and cycling routes. The hotel is positioned for guests completing the Coast to Coast route, as well as those exploring the Cleveland Way, the Cinder Track and the King Charles III England Coast Path.
Cycling routes including the Moor to Sea Cycle Network and the North York Moors Cycleway also pass through Robin Hood’s Bay. The hotel caters for organised walking and cycling groups, as well as individual travellers using the village as a base for active breaks.
Facilities For Outdoor Travellers
Hotel Victoria has developed facilities for guests travelling with outdoor kit, including drying areas for boots and waterproofs, secure bike storage, and the option to order packed lunches or picnics. The hotel also works with local provider Cinder Bike Hire, which can deliver cycles, including e-bikes and child trailers, directly to the property.
The hotel’s pet-friendly offer includes dog-friendly rooms within the Captain’s Quarters, with beds, blankets and water bowls provided. Dogs are also welcome in the Loxley Pub, where breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and evening meals are served.
Head Chef Ryan Osborne has created a dog dining menu, with dishes including Cumberland sausage and mash, chicken with rice and vegetables, and dog-friendly ice cream.
“The Coast to Coast Path becoming a National Trail is a fantastic milestone for the region. We’re delighted to welcome walkers, cyclists, and their dogs to the final stop on this incredible journey, offering them a place to relax, refuel, and take in the beauty of the North Yorkshire coastline. With interest in active and outdoor travel continuing to grow, Hotel Victoria combines location, comfort, and thoughtful amenities to create a memorable coastal escape at one of England’s most iconic walking destinations.”
