Just Eat customers in the UK can now talk to the app to decide what to eat, using a new AI-powered Voice Assistant on iOS and Android that explores cuisines, restaurants and dishes, as well as retail, pharmacy and beauty products, before an order is placed.
Just Eat Takeaway.com describes it as a personal food concierge. It builds on the company’s existing chat-based assistant and is designed to tackle what it calls “choice overload”, speeding up decisions and checkout with tailored recommendations generated through real-time conversation.

Voice or touch
The assistant works out what a customer wants from natural conversation, whether the request is specific or loosely defined, and can process intent across dozens of languages. Users can move between voice and touch commands, which is intended to reduce constant screen interaction and improve accessibility for people with limited mobility or visual impairments.
“We are always innovating and continually focused on leveraging technology to improve the ordering journey for our millions of customers. This custom-built conversational assistant represents a major step forward, making our service more intuitive and accessible.”
The UK is the first market for the Voice Assistant, with a wider international launch planned for 2026. It follows Just Eat’s surprise garage party headlined by Craig David at the end of last year.
