Heinz Mayo is launching a self-serve sandwich automat in London’s Soho, offering sandwiches produced with Sandwich Sandwich during a two-day pop-up in June.
Named the Heinz Mayo AutoMayoMat, the installation will open at 15 Bateman Street on 17 and 18 June 2026, coinciding with National Picnic Week. More than 800 sandwiches will be available across the two days, priced at £0.57 and purchased by contactless payment.

The project has been designed as an experiential lunchtime activation centred on Heinz Seriously Good Mayo. Customers will purchase sandwiches from individual self-serve compartments, with each order accompanied by an engraved lunchbox, tote bag and bottle of Heinz Seriously Good Mayo.
Heinz describes the AutoMayoMat as the UK’s only sandwich automat and says the format was developed in response to the popularity of sandwiches and changing lunch-break habits. The company cites research suggesting that more than half of British consumers do not properly take a lunch break, although the underlying research source was not supplied with the announcement.
The automat format takes its reference from automated food-service concepts historically used in Europe, reworked for a British sandwich menu and a temporary Soho setting.
Sandwich Menu
Sandwich Sandwich is preparing two menu options for the installation. The Heinz Mayo Chicken Kyiv combines crispy fried chicken and savoury bacon with chopped parsley soft cheese, garlic Parmesan Heinz Mayo, caramelised red onion chutney, cucumber, lettuce and onion.
A vegetarian option, The Egg & Heinz Mayo, combines crushed free-range egg mayonnaise with cucumber, vine tomato and rocket.
The Heinz Mayo AutoMayoMat will operate from 12pm to 4pm on both days at 15 Bateman Street, Soho, London W1D 4AQ. According to Heinz, the London installation is intended to be followed by further UK appearances.
