Nottingham based coffee roaster 200 Degrees is delighted to announce that its latest coffee shop will open on 9 June, at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet West Midlands in Cannock, Staffordshire.

This will be the coffee roaster’s second shop with the McArthurGlen retail outlet group and follows up on the success of the first venue at East Midlands Designer Outlet.

The new shop will create 12 new full time and part time jobs and will be housed in a central vintage style kiosk at the outlet, with 200 Degrees’ usual cosy interior seating for 36, plus exterior seating for another 60. It will also feature a dedicated takeaway hatch which will be open at peak times.

200 Degrees MD Tom Vincent sees a bright future for the company post-Covid, he said: “We’re definitely looking to the future and this shop is the second with McArthurGlen, we’re keen to form a strong partnership with them. It’s been a very tough year for everyone, but our people have been fantastic and have adapted to every new challenge thrown at them. This one’s a bit of a unique venue with a lot of outside space and an interesting shape, for anyone who’s been home-schooling for a year it’s an octagonal-based prism.”

With the outlet being just 30 minutes’ drive from Birmingham they hope to draw on the success of the two shops and barista school in the city centre.

Tom continued: “For people who know us, there will be lots that’s familiar including our hand roasted coffee with fresh food all day, and we’ll be open early for our usual range of breakfasts. We also expect to be under pressure to serve high quality takeaway to lots of shopped out people, so we’ve been warming up and fine-tuning our service style at our barista school in Birmingham.”

200 Degrees was set up by Tom and his business partner Rob Darby in 2012 and has 13 ‘distinctively independent’ coffee shops as well as its Roast House near Trent Bridge in Nottingham.

The company recently opened its coffee shop in The Hyphen Building in Manchester and is due to open another in York in July.
