Waterfront Limited Partnership, a joint venture between AEG and Crosstree Real Estate Partners, who own and operate Icon Outlet and the Entertainment District at The O2, is celebrating the opening of the largest BOOM BATTLE BAR in the UK, alongside the signing of Trapdoor, a new restaurant and bar.
BOOM BATTLE BAR, the 16,000 sq ft venue which spans two floors, offers a number of unique activities such as Axe Throwing, Augmented Reality Darts, Shuffleboard, as well as family-friendly favourites such as Crazier Golf and Karaoke Booths. BOOM BATTLE BAR also contains a strong dining offering, with BOOM Bites street food, cocktails and a premium bar. BOOM BATTLE BAR brings a new dynamic to the already extensive leisure offering at The O2, which also includes TOCA Social, Oxygen Freejumping trampoline park and Hollywood Bowl, strengthening the family-friendly day out destination.
Alongside BOOM BATTLE BAR is Trapdoor, a bar and restaurant which is set to fully open from early January 2022. Occupying 4,000 sq ft, it will offer an extensive cocktail list alongside food from an award-winning chef. Customers will be surrounded by varied art and entertainment, from skateboard-led decor to live DJ sets. Trapdoor will join the Entertainment District’s strong, varied dining line-up, alongside established operators such as Gaucho, Marugame Udon and Gordon Ramsay’s Street Burger.
Janine Constantin-Russell, Managing Director – Entertainment District and Icon Outlet and at The O2, commented: “BOOM BATTLE BAR and Trapdoor will be exciting additions to The O2’s collection of leisure venues, and highlight The O2’s success in securing names that offer unique immersive experiences. These openings, alongside the continued impressive sales growth for the Entertainment District, further cement our reputation as the leading day-out destination in London.”
Richard Harpham, CEO of Boom Battle Bar, said: “We’re delighted to be opening our epic new venue at The O2, so we can bring the BOOM experience to such an iconic London venue. This is our biggest BOOM BATTLE BAR yet, and our venue at The O2 will house our most saught after games, from Axe Throwing to Augmented Reality Darts. As the Entertainment District at The O2 continues to go from strength-to-strength, we are excited to join the venue as the go-to destination for competitive socialising.”
Annabella Zalaf, Director of Trapdoor, added: “We are delighted to be opening in the Entertainment District at The O2, the perfect venue for us to bring our restaurant and bar, which embodies the coolness of the Bronx and eclecticism of London. The destination has worked hard throughout the pandemic to ensure it continues to attract a high volume of engaged customers. We are confident that the destination will continue to outperform, and the location will prove to be hugely important for us as we expand.”
The news follows Icon Outlet’s celebration of three other major milestones: the appointment of Louisa Dalgleish as the new Leasing Director; sales in October being 6% up on 2019; and the opening of two new stores, French cosmetics and beauty brand Clarins and American athletic headwear retailer Lids.
