Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana will open its first pizzeria in Monton on Sunday 8 November at 12pm, marking the group’s first site in Salford and its 41st restaurant to date.

Located on Monton’s high street, the pizzeria will occupy the former Bennetts Furnishers site, which has been vacant since 2022, and will have space for more than 120 guests.

To mark the launch, Rudy’s is partnering with Salford Foundation, which delivers opportunities, support and training for children, young people and adults across Salford, Greater Manchester and the North West. All proceeds from a sold-out pre-opening event will be donated to the charity, and guests visiting the new pizzeria will also have the opportunity to donate.

Rudy’s opened its first pizzeria in Manchester’s Ancoats in 2015 and has since expanded across the UK, including Greater Manchester sites in Prestwich and Altrincham. It is known for its light, double-fermented dough and is the largest organisation in the UK to be accredited by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (AVPN), the international body that protects and promotes traditional Neapolitan pizza making.

In 2025, Rudy’s ranked 23rd in 50 Top Pizza’s list of the world’s best artisan pizza chains. Each pizza, from the classic Margherita to the Calabrese, is made to AVPN standards using traditional techniques and ingredients sourced directly from Italy.

“We’re really excited to open Rudy’s Monton this November and bring our pizza to Salford for the first time. Monton has a fantastic food and drink scene, and we can’t wait to welcome both new guests and familiar faces to the new pizzeria.

“We’re also proud to also be supporting Salford Foundation and helping raise money for an organisation doing such important work in the local community. We can’t wait to welcome guests through the doors, fire up the oven and finally share a pizza with our new neighbours in Monton.”

The menu also features limited-edition rotating specials created in tribute to renowned pizzerias and pizzaioli. A recent example, The Peppe, combined fior di latte, creamy lemon ricotta, bresaola and sweet confit tomatoes, finished with fresh lemon zest and basil. It was inspired by the team’s visit to Gruppo Peppe in Paris, founded by Neapolitan pizzaiolo Peppe Cutraro and ranked 10th in the same 50 Top Pizza artisan chains list for 2025.

The bar will serve Aperol and Hugo spritzes alongside Rudy’s own Morello Cherry and Mandarino spritzes, plus local lagers and soft drinks including its homemade lemonade. Desserts include tiramisu made fresh daily, a panna cotta cheesecake topped with red berry compote and white chocolate shavings, and a double chocolate brownie with vanilla gelato.

The opening will create up to 30 jobs locally, with roles including pizzaioli, floor servers and supervisors.
