NinetyNine Regent Street has opened in London’s West End, bringing a two-floor, music-led nightlife venue to the former home of The Cuckoo Club, an address associated with London after dark for more than 70 years.

Set across The Club Room and The Vinyl Room, the venue is designed to change pace through the night, from intimate listening and drinks to a full-scale late-night party, with music, atmosphere and hospitality at the centre of both spaces.

“London has no shortage of incredible places to go out, but over time the experience has become increasingly fragmented,”

“You might go somewhere for the music, somewhere else for the atmosphere and somewhere else for the hospitality. We wanted to bring those things back together under one roof, somewhere considered and curated, but still spontaneous, generous and fun. A place where you can arrive without knowing exactly where the night will take you, and trust that you are going to have a great time.”

The address’s nightlife history began in the mid-1950s with Al Burnett’s Stork Club. At its height, the Stork was a fixture of West End nightlife, drawing figures including Prime Minister Harold Macmillan, Cabinet minister John Profumo and King Hussein of Jordan, alongside Hollywood names such as Frank Sinatra, Elizabeth Taylor, Ava Gardner and Peter Sellers.

From 2005, The Cuckoo Club became the address’s next defining chapter, combining the intimacy and hospitality of a members’ club with the energy of a nightclub across two floors. Leonardo DiCaprio, Rihanna, Sir Mick Jagger, Bono, Natalie Portman, Jason Statham and Axl Rose were among the names photographed or reported at the club, alongside royal visitors including Prince William and Prince Harry.

NinetyNine is not an attempt to recreate either era. Its owners describe it as the latest evolution of an address that has repeatedly moved with the city, and as a new two-floor destination shaped for today’s London, where design, music and hospitality come together after dark.

The interiors are timeless rather than themed, using rich materials, warm architectural light, intimate seating and a dark, cinematic atmosphere, with the focus placed on the room, the music, the people and the service rather than short-lived concepts.

Upstairs, The Club Room is the main dance floor, with an open-format music policy moving between hip-hop, R&B, house, pop and familiar crowd favourites. Its weekly programme is built around atmosphere rather than genre, with selected headline nights handing the room to invited artists.

Downstairs, The Vinyl Room begins the evening as an intimate hi-fi listening lounge and vinyl bar, with a soundtrack leaning towards house, disco and electronic music. As the night develops, the lights drop and the volume rises, turning the room into a late-night party of its own.

NinetyNine is led by owners Kevin Cole, Raj Devani, Romain Fargette, Corrado Mozzillo and Gennaro Salerno, whose careers have repeatedly intersected across London nightlife. Mozzillo and Salerno bring experience from Cuckoo and Toy Room, Devani from Project and Scandal, and Cole from Aristocrat, Scandal, Cuckoo and Tabū.

Food and drink are designed to complement rather than interrupt the night. The Vinyl Room will serve a concise selection of elevated comfort food in an informal format, alongside classic cocktails, Champagne and premium spirits.
