Barker Proudlove has successfully leased a 12,600 sq. ft unit to bowling giant Lane7, continuing its mission to put leisure facilities at the heart of UK towns. The retail and leisure property leasing experts facilitated a deal that sees the boutique bowling alley open in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, next month.

This launch marks Lane7’s first venture outside of UK city centres, with Barker Proudlove securing the leasing terms on behalf of its clients, Bruntwood and Trafford Council. The sought-after location on Altrincham’s high street is part of the broader redevelopment project, Foundation, Altrincham’s new hub of workspace, hospitality, and leisure in the heart of Stamford Quarter.

Barker Proudlove’s expertise in retail and leisure has been crucial in completing the tenancy agreement, which supports the regeneration of Altrincham’s high street. This initiative aims to establish the area as a vibrant day-to-night destination. The Foundation scheme has already attracted a variety of high-calibre tenants for the multi-purpose hub, including Starbucks, Nell’s Pizza, and now Lane7.

“It’s fantastic to have completed the Lane7 lettings deal for Foundation on behalf of our clients, Bruntwood and Trafford Council,” said Mark Proudlove, director of Barker Proudlove. “Foundation, with its confirmed tenants, provides an exciting opportunity to draw in the crowds and prove that fun doesn’t require a city centre postcode.”

“At Barker Proudlove, we understand how essential regeneration is to key towns and cities across the North, and Altrincham is the perfect example of this. Its high street has transformed beyond recognition in the last decade and now represents a place where people love to live, work and play. We’re extremely proud to have played a part in welcoming Lane7 to the town, which continues to put leisure at the heart of its community. Foundation offers sought-after places to work, dine, shop, and enjoy leisure activities, and it’s great to have played a part in bringing the scheme to life for residents.”

Barker Proudlove has long-standing relationships with Bruntwood and Trafford Council and remains involved with Foundation’s client wish list, aiming to bring even more excitement to Altrincham. The Lane7 Altrincham agreement follows several high-profile leisure lettings from Barker Proudlove in recent months, including a 15,000 sq. ft space at Broadway Shopping Centre in Bradford to trampoline park Flip Out, a 20,000 sq. ft unit at the Odyssey Complex in Belfast to Fun Station/Volcano Falls Golf, and a 16,000 sq. ft letting at The Light centre in Leeds to Roxy Leisure (Roxy Ballroom).
