“If you go down to the woods today, you’re sure of a big surprise” with The Belfry’s new Woodland Adventures, opening for the Easter holidays.
Set in the woodland area of the Resort, the nature-inspired playground offers families hours of outdoor fun, allowing little ones to burn off steam. From huge climbing towers, swooping slides, cameo nets, and zipwires to low-level hopping stones and sunken trampolines, the trail will provide challenge and excitement for every age and ability.

Inspired by native woodland species at the Resort and using local resources, the Adventures will consist of multiple zones – The Owls Roost, Hoppers Hollow and Squirrel Play. Each part of the Woodland Adventures echoes the movements of its namesake, encouraging children to swoop and soar down slides and on swings at The Owls Roost, and jump on trampolines and run through tunnels at Hoppers Hollow, to name just a few.
Paul Travers, Head of Operations at Creating Adventurous Places – who led the creative team behind the design and build of the new playground – said: “what we do well is create entirely bespoke play experiences that touch on the appropriate local narratives to make our installations unique to each site. Woodland Adventures at The Belfry is packed full of play value, including multi-sensory elements to discover, and an abundance of interactive features to explore along the way. The best part of our process is seeing the concept come to life – it’s a real joy.”

When children finally emerge from under the canopy of trees, there is even more awaiting them at The Belfry this Easter. Children can race around the go-karting track or practise their swing at The Belfry’s Toptracer range. The Green offers an exciting day of badminton, table tennis, sand bunkers and diggers, volleyball, space hoppers, and big target football. There is also mini golf, swimming, a movie lounge, and an Indoor Game Zone. As if that is not enough, archery and air rifle shooting will also be available at an additional cost.
Families staying at the Resort can also take part in the Resort’s Golden Egg hunt for their chance to win a return overnight stay for free.
Gail Aldridge, Marketing Director at The Belfry, commented: “The Woodland Adventure adds to an incredible list of child-friendly activities we host at the resort, providing families who stay with us with another free, outdoor activity to enjoy. We’re strong believers that you can’t beat a UK family holiday which is why we’ve made sure that every stay at The Belfry is a chance to create those cherished memories kids will never forget.”
Family breaks at The Belfry are available from £169 per room for a family of 2 adults and 2 children.
