IKEA Warrington has officially reopened its revamped restaurant, unveiling a modernised design and increased seating capacity. The newly refreshed space now accommodates 550 diners, adding nearly 100 extra seats to provide a more comfortable and spacious dining environment.
The renovation embraces IKEA’s signature Scandinavian aesthetic, creating a tranquil and inspiring setting where visitors can rest, recharge, and enjoy a variety of meals, snacks, and drinks. A new children’s seating area has also been introduced, making the space more family-friendly.

A New Chapter for IKEA Warrington
First opened in 1987, IKEA Warrington holds the distinction of being the retailer’s first UK store and has remained a popular shopping and dining destination for over 37 years. With thousands of visitors enjoying the restaurant each year, the refurbishment was essential to modernise the space. Key upgrades include digital screens, more relaxed seating options, and dedicated solo-working tables, alongside traditional seating areas.
Reflecting broader store modernisation efforts over the past five years, the refreshed restaurant is expected to welcome 6,650 visitors weekly and serve approximately 50,000 Swedish meatballs. The updates also extend behind the scenes, with a new co-worker restaurant opening for IKEA Warrington employees.
