Family-owned department store Fenwick has announced the launch of Fuego by Fenwick, its Mediterranean-inspired tapas restaurant, at Fenwick Kingston. This marks the fourth restaurant to open under the Fenwick brand, following successful launches in Newcastle, Bracknell, and Brent Cross.
The restaurant is designed to offer an all-day dining experience, featuring a range of tapas, charcuterie and cheese boards, traditional tortillas, and Napoli-style sourdough pizzas. Among the menu highlights are Fuego classics like Jamon Ibèrico Bellota, a three-year-aged acorn-fed Pata Negra ham, and gambas a la plancha with garlic and chilli. The Autumn/Winter 2023 menu introduces seasonal dishes such as crispy sea bass wrapped in kataifi pastry and served with mojo verde mayonnaise, as well as a vibrant beetroot salad with yoghurt, almonds, and molasses.
Fuego Kingston by Fenwick boasts a light-filled, open-plan layout, complete with a sit-up champagne and cocktail bar. The bar offers classic aperitifs, including a Fuego margarita with chilli salt, and house recommendations featuring gin and vodka martinis. For those preferring non-alcoholic options, the menu includes a passionfruit cooler and mint spritz. An extensive new wine list complements the culinary offerings, with all listed bottles available for purchase in the store’s Wine Room.
Piero Sardano, Fenwick’s Director of Restaurants, commented, “We are delighted to open the doors to Fuego by Fenwick in Kingston and are already starting to see repeat customers, who recognise quality ingredients and innovative cooking, eager to work their way through the menu. Fuego has always been celebrated as the go-to tapas restaurant for those in the know but we’re now ready to lift the lid on this well-kept secret and start shouting about it in line with our Quiet No More campaign. This new opening is just the beginning. We have big plans for Fuego nationally and are excited by the buzz we are already seeing in Kingston where we want to become a mainstay of the local food scene.”
A series of interactive masterclasses and events are scheduled to run across all Fuego by Fenwick restaurants throughout November and December. These include sommelier-hosted wine pairing evenings and cocktail masterclasses in partnership with climate-positive British brand Sapling Spirits.
The restaurant operates from Monday to Saturday, 9.30am to 7pm, with extended hours on Thursdays until 9pm. On Sundays, the restaurant is open from 10.30am to 5pm. For more information or to book a table, you can visit Fuego by Fenwick.
