Premier Inn Dubai Dragon Mart is marking its fifth anniversary this month, celebrating half a decade since its opening on 16 December 2019. Located in International City, the hotel is the ninth property in the group’s Middle East portfolio. Despite launching during the challenging pre-pandemic period, the hotel has navigated external pressures to achieve consistent operational success.
Situated opposite Dragon Mart, the largest Chinese market in the UAE, the hotel’s strategic location has played a significant role in drawing a wide variety of guests. The property caters to both leisure and business travellers, offering value-oriented services in close proximity to one of Dubai’s busiest commercial hubs.
Over the years, Premier Inn Dubai Dragon Mart has adapted its offerings to meet the needs of its diverse clientele. This includes initiatives aimed at Chinese visitors, who make up over half of its guest base. Tailored services such as Mandarin signage, an Asian menu at Nuevo restaurant, and basic Mandarin language training for staff have enhanced accessibility and comfort for this key demographic.
The hotel has also focused on sustainability and community support. Its involvement in eco-conscious projects, such as hosting COP28, and partnering on health education initiatives with First Response Healthcare, reflects its commitment to addressing broader regional priorities. Additionally, during the severe storms and floods of 2024, the hotel provided temporary shelter for displaced residents and contributed meals to local schoolchildren.
Premier Inn Dubai Dragon Mart has been recognised with several industry awards over the years, underscoring its consistent performance and guest satisfaction. The leadership team credits these accomplishments to its dedicated staff, many of whom have been with the hotel since its pre-opening phase.
General Manager Eric Masalawala expressed his gratitude for the team’s hard work and the guests’ continued support. Simon Leigh, Managing Director of Whitbread, highlighted the hotel’s significance within the brand’s regional portfolio and reaffirmed plans for further expansion in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia.
As Premier Inn continues to grow in the region, Dubai Dragon Mart remains a prominent example of how strategic location, tailored services, and a focus on community engagement can contribute to long-term success.
