Newcastle United Football Club has announced the launch of two new hospitality suites at St. James’ Park stadium, in partnership with the creative experience agency 20.20. This initiative represents a new chapter in the stadium’s facilities, focusing on providing an enriched match-day experience for the club’s supporters.
The project, led by 20.20, includes the creation of two distinct suites named ‘Wings’ and ‘The Rooftops with Fenwick.’ ‘Wings,’ located at the Leazes End of St. James’ Park, is designed with a theme reflective of the club’s history, particularly its notable wingers. The suite’s branding and interior are influenced by the colours and silhouette of a magpie, a symbol closely associated with the club. The space, featuring a two-in-one restaurant layout with a capacity of 400 covers, is divided by a curved staircase and offers diverse seating arrangements.
‘The Rooftops with Fenwick’ suite, situated on the top floor of the stadium, provides a VIP lounge experience. This suite is designed to offer views of both the pitch and the surrounding cityscape. It accommodates 150 guests and features a tasting menu, alongside an interior palette of walnut timber, natural tones, rich blues, and brass detailing. The space is accessible via a dedicated members’ lift and includes a centrally-placed bar and a variety of seating options.
Jon Lee, Creative Director of 20.20, commented on the project, stating, “A perfect team partnership has helped to deliver two exceptional new experiences at St. James Park. Rooftops delivers an outstanding fan experience that will change the direction of hospitality at St. James Park, while Wings is a unique new offer allowing a match day experience that fans will fall in love with. Great work can only be delivered by a great team effort – including our appointed specialist contractor, Robertson, and the brilliant team at Newcastle United.”
Peter Silverstone from Newcastle United shared his perspective on the collaboration: “We are driven by the highest standards at Newcastle United and working with 20.20 was a simple decision. 20.20 took time to understand the Club, its fans, and our heritage, and they delivered original thinking into two exceptional concepts that have raised the bar at St. James’ Park.”
The introduction of these hospitality suites is part of Newcastle United’s ongoing efforts to enhance the stadium atmosphere and overall fan experience
