Dormy House, the award-winning rural retreat within the Farncombe Estate in the Cotswolds, has announced the launch of a new partnership with interiors and homeware brand, Cox & Cox.
Known for its Cotswolds countryside chic interiors with a touch of Scandinavian style, Dormy House has teamed up with the British brand to totally reimagine what was previously the reception area of the hotel, transforming the space into a relaxed series of chill-out areas for guests to kick back in style.
As part of Dormy House’s on-going innovation, the check-in process is now fully mobile, meaning guests no longer have to wait at a reception area. Check-in now happens on arrival in one of the hotel’s four lounge areas, meaning lots of lovely new space where the former reception area once was. Cox & Cox was chosen as the ideal partner to reimagine the space, with their laid-back, timeless aesthetic and range of classic furniture, paint, textiles, decorative accessories and faux plants. The brand worked together with Nette Reynolds, Farncombe Estate’s design director and co-owner, to create the new-look for Dormy and to ensure the space reflected the hotel’s signature relaxed look and feel.
Andrew Grahame, CEO, Farncombe Estate comments “As we rise to the new challenges posed to the industry in recent months, the team has been busy innovating, creating and improving. Our new check-in and partnership with Cox & Cox is a brilliant example of the highly creative, fun approach we are taking at Dormy House. We were already fans of Cox & Cox and have used pieces in the other hotels on the Farncombe Estate – so we knew that we would achieve the right look and feel by working together.
We now have lots of new space right in the heart of the hotel and Cox & Cox has transformed the area into a series of relaxing hideouts and the ideal spots to wind down. We are thrilled with the results and so are our guests.”
Richard Bell, CEO, Cox & Cox adds “We were delighted when Dormy House asked us to furnish this innovative new space. We are expanding the Trade arm of Cox & Cox significantly, and this flagship project shows exactly what can be achieved when the right brands come together. Dormy House is a beautiful hotel; we share a similar aesthetic and outlook, so working together has been one of the highlights of our year so far.”
