Nestled beneath The Whisky Exchange store on Borough High Street, London Bridge Distillery School is a dedicated space offering four unique blending and distilling experiences including gin distilling, whisky and rum blending classes, open for bookings from 12 July 2023.
Featuring 16 micro pot stills and one large 50 litre still, London Bridge Distillery School allows guests to create their own signature gin in or get to grips with the delicate art of blending in the whisky and rum blending classes.
Gin Distilling
Offering the chance to create a personalised gin in one of the 16 micro pot stills, guests will discover the fascinating history of the juniper-based spirit and get hands on with up to 24 botanicals, developing different flavour profiles for their very own spirit. Guests will take home a bottle of their own personalised gin and if they love it there’s always the opportunity to reorder their bespoke recipe from the Distillery School.
Whisky Blending
In this introduction to the art of blending whisky, guests will be guided through the tasting of blending samples and how to select different components to use in their own unique blend of whisky, combining different styles of whiskies aged in various cask types. Guests take their own personalised blend home after the session.
Rum Blending
Providing a chance to discover the diverse and fascinating spirit that is rum, guests for the rum blending class will be able to sample a variety of different pot and column distilled rums from the Caribbean and South America, and learn the complex art of blending, all under the careful guidance of the expert hosts. At the end of the class, guests will take home a bottle of their own signature blended rum creation.
At the end of each session, guests can take home a 50cl bottle of their own personalised creation and the bespoke recipes will be kept on file at the Distillery School and can be reordered after the sessions.
Each session will cater up to 16 people and is a perfect gift idea for an upcoming birthday celebration, corporate gift or team bonding, with gift cards also available through the website.
The distilling and blending space is also available for private hire, tastings and events.
