Shaftesbury Capital has announced the opening of The EL&N Deli & Bakery, a new venture from the globally renowned café, EL&N. This innovative concept is located in Covent Garden’s heritage-listed Market Building, marking the creation of EL&N’s first-ever sub-brand and further establishing Covent Garden as a premier London destination for launching new brands.

Situated on Covent Garden’s historic pedestrianised Piazza, The EL&N Deli & Bakery spans 650 sq ft and offers seating for diners both inside and on the al fresco terrace, which accommodates over 50 patrons. The venue features EL&N’s signature brunch favourites such as Smashed Avocado & Egg Focaccia, Brown Sugar & Sesame Pancake, and Burrata & Truffle Croissant. In addition to these classics, the deli introduces new menu items, including freshly prepared, artisanal bakery products like folded pizzas, mini pizzettas, and 72-hour focaccia finished in a pizza oven and topped with fresh Italian ingredients. A new selection of Special Iced Matcha Lattes, luxurious speciality teas, and cakes available by the slice also feature prominently on the menu.

Designed to reflect its novel concept, The EL&N Deli & Bakery combines modern flair with the brand’s iconic interior-led identity. The space is adorned with soft furnishings in a new colour palette of soft greens and burnt terracotta orange, creating a welcoming and stylish environment.

The opening of The EL&N Deli & Bakery enhances Covent Garden’s reputation for hosting innovative, high-quality food and beverage concepts. It joins an established line-up of similar venues, including Chestnut Bakery, The Petersham Wine Bar & Deli, ST JOHN Bakery, and WatchHouse Coffee. This launch follows the recent opening of a new space by luxury French pâtisserie brand Ladurée, also located in Covent Garden’s Market Building. Ladurée’s expanded space offers an additional 36 seats and a fresh take on its classic afternoon tea, blending Anglo-French cuisine.

The EL&N Deli & Bakery’s debut in Covent Garden underscores the area’s status as a dynamic and attractive location for world-renowned brands to introduce new concepts and expand their offerings. The new venue is expected to attract both locals and tourists, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere of Covent Garden.
