In a delightful fusion of traditional Indian flavours and contemporary dining trends, Tap & Tandoor is set to open its fourth location at Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth. Slated for a grand opening in January 2024, this new venture promises to be a culinary highlight in the area, offering a unique dining experience that combines the rich tastes of Indian cuisine with an array of modern craft beers, cocktails, and the excitement of live sports.
Tap & Tandoor, known for its innovative approach to Indian dining, will be Gunwharf Quay’s first Indian culinary offering. The restaurant specializes in home-style curries, such as the classic Butter Chicken, and its signature mixed grill – a selection of prime-cut meats cooked to perfection over charcoal. In addition to these mouth-watering dishes, Tap & Tandoor also caters to a diverse palate with a variety of freshly made vegetarian and vegan options.
The dining experience at Tap & Tandoor is designed to be casual and family-friendly, allowing guests to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere while watching a variety of sports. The restaurant will be housed in the refurbished premises of the former Coast to Coast restaurant. The new design aims to blend the comfort and warmth of a traditional British pub with a touch of Indian heritage, creating an inviting space for up to 150 guests. Additionally, the location boasts a large outdoor terrace, offering stunning views of the harbour.
A representative from Tap & Tandoor expressed excitement about the new location: “We can’t wait to bring our unique concept to Gunwharf Quay’s and provide a brand new experience for visitors to the designer outlet as well as the local community.”
Yvonne Clay, Centre Director at Gunwharf Quays, shared this enthusiasm, stating: “We’re delighted to have Tap & Tandoor join the Gunwharf Quays food and beverage offering. We know our guests will be thrilled to have a new cuisine join our roster and we can’t wait for the official opening in January.”
Tap & Tandoor’s new location will operate from 12pm to 12am, seven days a week, with food service available from 12pm to 9.30pm. This new venture is not just a culinary addition to the area but also a boost to the local economy, creating 25 new jobs.
