South Lodge has introduced The Reeds, a collection of eight lakeside lodges set within its 93-acre estate in the West Sussex countryside. This development includes six lakeside lodges and two spa lodges, all designed with biophilic architecture to foster a connection with nature.

The lakeside lodges, situated around South Lodge’s wild swimming lake, feature two bedrooms, open-plan living spaces, and modern amenities. A striking feature is the fully glazed double-height ceilings that integrate the interior with the exterior, offering expansive views from a private terrace and inviting natural light into the living spaces.

The two spa lodges, positioned slightly back from the lake, are tailored for couples seeking relaxation. These lodges come equipped with steam showers, outdoor whirlpool baths, and infrared halotherapy saunas, designed to enhance well-being through improved sleep, detoxification, and muscle and joint relief.

The design of the lodges incorporates materials that reflect the West Sussex landscape, using products derived from nature to create a calming atmosphere. This approach aligns with Exclusive Collection’s commitment to sustainability, featuring innovative, up-cycled, locally sourced, or naturally derived materials.

In an artistic nod, the lake is adorned with water lilies sourced from Monet’s garden in Giverny, the only location outside of France to feature these plants. This addition aims to provide a serene environment for guests, enhancing the natural beauty of the area.

The Reeds offers guided wild swimming sessions in the lake, allowing guests to experience the therapeutic benefits of nature. Additionally, guests have access to South Lodge’s extensive facilities, including a 44,000 sq. ft. spa and three restaurants, one of which is the Michelin-starred The Pass. Guests can also enjoy breakfast and charcuterie hampers filled with local Sussex produce and collect fresh eggs from the hotel’s free-range chickens.
