Landsec has announced the signing of The Real Greek, the contemporary Aegean restaurant, at Bluewater. The letting takes Bluewater’s Plaza to full occupancy, while introducing a new concept to add even more variety to the destination’s food and beverage line-up.

The Real Greek, currently the UK’s only group of authentic Greek restaurants, will launch the Bluewater outlet later this month; a 155-cover, 3,900 sq ft space designed with the operator’s unique Eastern Mediterranean style. It is the destination’s first-ever Greek restaurant, further enhancing Bluewater’s credentials as a destination with a breadth of choice that forms a truly all-day offer.

The brand creates a contemporary Aegean experience of Greek dining and hospitality, with a broad selection of traditional Greek meze dishes, mixed with flame-grilled meats and souvlaki wraps. The majority of its ingredients are sourced directly from the finest suppliers in Greece, and embody the culinary heritage of the nation.

Rob Hardie, Portfolio Director for Co-Owner and Asset Manager of Bluewater, Landsec, commented: “Having The Plaza fully let is a clear indication of the appeal of Bluewater for operators, as well as the strength and relevance of F&B in leading retail destinations. We want to ensure that our guests are met with an abundance of choice, and are able to spend the entire day at Bluewater exploring and experiencing different things. Adding new concepts such as The Real Greek is in-line with our strategy to broaden the range of cuisines on offer to our guests, especially in The Plaza, our fast-casual dining hub.”

Nabil Mankarious, Managing Director at The Real Greek, added: “We’re delighted to be opening our 21st outlet in Bluewater and to be the first Greek restaurant to operate within the destination. We’re proud to continue to thrive as the industry recovers from the pandemic and we are confident that this location will add to our success and further expand our presence on a great scale.”

This news follows the recent signing of Big Easy at Bluewater, for its first location outside of London, and Landsec’s positive half-year results announcement, which point to the increasing importance of dining and leisure in creating a compelling, all-day offer for a destination.

Shelley Sandzer acted for Landsec.
