Trafford Centre, one of Manchester’s premier shopping destinations, has proudly welcomed the opening of Chit ‘n’ Chaat, an authentic Indian street food restaurant. This latest location, spanning 2,000 sq ft, marks the brand’s fourth restaurant in Manchester and represents a significant milestone in its expansion across the North of England. The new venue, which opened this autumn, is located in Trafford Centre’s newly redesigned dining area, Upper Orient, a vibrant section of the centre dedicated to diverse culinary offerings.
To celebrate the opening, Chit ‘n’ Chaat hosted a day filled with live Bollywood entertainment, offering guests the opportunity to sample a variety of dishes from the menu. Additionally, visitors enjoyed a special 25% discount on their bill, making the event a true celebration of Indian street food culture.
Chit ‘n’ Chaat, a brand born in Manchester, was founded with a vision to introduce the vibrant flavours of Indian street food to new markets. Co-Founder Sagar Modha expressed his excitement about the new location: “Trafford Centre is a dream location for our brand. After nearly two years of planning, we are proud to achieve this milestone and look forward to welcoming customers. Our vision has always been to bring the vibrant flavours of Indian street food to new markets, and Trafford Centre provides the ideal platform to do just that. We’re eager to share our culinary heritage with our customers and look forward to the exciting journey ahead.”
This addition to the Trafford Centre underscores the centre’s commitment to offering a diverse and dynamic dining experience for its visitors. Kitty Vaughan, Head of UK Leisure and F&B Leasing at Pradera Lateral, the asset manager for Trafford Centre, commented, “The opening of Chit ‘n’ Chaat is a highly valuable addition to Trafford Centre, reflecting our commitment to providing an exciting and varied dining experience for our visitors. We look forward to welcoming Chit ‘n’ Chaat and are confident that their authentic Indian street food will resonate well with our diverse customer base and become a popular dining destination for all.”
The new restaurant’s opening is a part of Trafford Centre’s broader strategy to enhance its food and beverage offerings, with the Upper Orient area being reimagined as a central hub for some of Manchester’s most-loved and emerging brands. The space, once known as Chinatown, has been revitalised to create a visually stunning and vibrant dining destination.
