Café Andaluz, a renowned tapas restaurant brand, has recently enhanced Edinburgh’s vibrant culinary landscape with the inauguration of its latest venue in the picturesque area of Stockbridge. This new establishment, which officially opens its doors on November 10, marks the third Café Andaluz restaurant in Edinburgh and the seventh across the United Kingdom.

Situated in the heart of Stockbridge, Café Andaluz Stockbridge is a testament to the brand’s commitment to authentic Spanish ambiance and cuisine. The restaurant, boasting a capacity of 120 covers, is designed to reflect a light, airy Spanish aesthetic. It promises to offer a diverse and engaging Iberian-inspired tapas menu, catering to patrons from breakfast until late evening.

The menu features classic Spanish dishes, including the beloved patatas bravas, Gambas pil pil, and a meticulously prepared Paella, using traditional Murcian Calasparra rice. These signature offerings are a nod to the rich culinary heritage of Spain and are expected to be a hit among the local and visiting food enthusiasts.

2021 marks a significant milestone for the Café Andaluz brand, celebrating its 21st anniversary. Over these years, the brand has served over seven million diners, earning a reputation for its family-friendly dining experience and its deep-rooted connection with the Spanish culinary tradition.

Ailsa Reid, the Area Manager of Café Andaluz, who has been with the company for 15 years, expressed her enthusiasm for the new venture. “Stockbridge is a vibrant area with a fantastic culinary scene, and we couldn’t think of anywhere better to open our third venue in Edinburgh,” she said. Reid emphasized the brand’s philosophy of integrating their restaurants into the fabric of the local communities, a tradition they are eager to continue in Stockbridge.

The journey of Café Andaluz began in Glasgow in 2002, with the aim of creating a fun, family-friendly restaurant that encapsulates the essence of Spanish dining. The brand’s expansion to Edinburgh and the opening of its first English venue in Newcastle are testaments to its growing popularity and appeal.

Café Andaluz first opened in Glasgow’s West End in 2002 and has since welcomed approximately 7.3 million customers. The brand is part of the DRG (Di Maggio’s Restaurant Group), founded in 1985, which now serves over 26 million diners annually across various establishments, including Amarone, The Citizen, and Cadiz. The group’s expansion over the years, including the acquisition of Barolo, formerly Glasgow’s Italian institution L-Ariosto, reflects its commitment to enhancing the dining experience in Scotland and beyond.
