Brother Marcus and Hagen are set to open at YY London, bringing new dining and coffee experiences to Canary Wharf. The two brands will join the 415,000-square-foot ESG-led office development, further enhancing its hospitality offering and making it a key social hub for both workers and visitors.
Eastern Mediterranean And Danish Coffee Culture Arrive At YY London
Brother Marcus, the acclaimed Eastern Mediterranean restaurant group founded by Tas Gaitanos and Alex Large, will launch at YY London this summer. The 2,861-square-foot space, secured on a 20-year lease, will serve its signature brunch, mezze, cocktails, and a carefully curated selection of Eastern Mediterranean wines.
Hagen, the Danish espresso bar known for its Scandinavian-inspired coffee houses, has already opened its seventeenth UK location at YY London. The 1,141-square-foot café, secured on a 10-year lease, takes design inspiration from Room 606 in Copenhagen’s SAS Hotel by Arne Jacobsen, featuring blue velvet, wooden panelling, brown marble, and oval lighting.
Additionally, a major restaurant chain has signed a 9,500-square-foot lease at YY London, with details to be announced soon.
A Prime Location In Canary Wharf
Both Brother Marcus and Hagen will occupy ground-floor units facing Jubilee Plaza and the newly developed Eden Dock, opposite the Jubilee Line Underground Station. These new openings will add to Canary Wharf’s expanding mix of independent and high-profile dining destinations, catering to the growing number of residents, office workers, and visitors in the area.
Tristram Gethin, founding partner at Quadrant, the asset management firm behind YY London, said: “We welcome these exceptional brands to YY London. That they are moving into YY London is further testament to the building’s quality and the role it is playing in Canary Wharf’s community.”
Canary Wharf has evolved into a vibrant mixed-use district, now home to 3,500 residents, with another 3,600 homes in development. The area also features an expanding leisure and hospitality offering, including floating gardens and boardwalks at Eden Dock, a soon-to-be-completed linear park, and one of London’s longest indoor go-karting tracks.
The Transformation Of YY London
YY London has undergone a major redevelopment, transforming one of Canary Wharf’s original office buildings into one of Europe’s most advanced and sustainable workplaces. Last year, Revolut signed a 113,000-square-foot lease across four floors, relocating its global headquarters to the building.
With a focus on wellbeing and sustainability, YY London integrates smart technology, WELL Platinum-certified amenities, and biophilic design. It offers flexible and efficient workspaces, all within a five-minute walk of Canary Wharf’s extensive amenities, including 94 bars and restaurants, 46 cafés, five supermarkets, and three gyms.
YY London was acquired in 2019 by a joint venture between Quadrant and funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management. The extensive refurbishment was completed in 2023.
