The Trafford Centre has announced the upcoming opening of Nichi, a Japanese dining experience with a Peruvian twist, set to launch this October. Located in a newly designed 3,000 sq ft space within the Upper Orient, the restaurant will offer an immersive dining experience featuring a variety of Japanese dishes such as sushi, ceviche, and wagyu, paired with fine wines and sakes.
Nichi’s Flagship Restaurant in Manchester
Nichi’s flagship restaurant will showcase an all-day omakase menu, tableside flambé, and quick bento boxes for lunchtime visitors. The Mancunian-founded brand will be led by Head Chef Kentaro Yanagisawa, who brings experience from prestigious restaurants such as Sexyfish and Nobu. Managing Partner Vanessa Mornet, previously with Zuma, will oversee operations, while a resident DJ will perform on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.
New Dining Destination in Trafford Centre
The restaurant will be part of the Trafford Centre’s newly revamped Upper Orient dining area, designed to blend traditional and contemporary Asian aesthetics. Nichi’s opening adds to the centre’s high-end retail and dining portfolio, offering visitors an elevated culinary experience.

Grand Opening Celebrations and Giveaway
In celebration of its opening, Nichi will feature live performances throughout the day and invite notable guests to sample its unique dishes. As a special incentive, customers who make reservations during the first five days will be entered into a giveaway with the chance to win flights to Japan and dining vouchers.
