Shaftesbury Capital has announced the addition of five new food and drink operators across its Soho portfolio, with new openings at Kingly Court, Foubert’s Place, and Berwick Street. Each concept reflects the area’s varied food landscape and Shaftesbury Capital’s tailored approach to curating distinctive, experience-led hospitality offerings.

Opening this summer in Kingly Court, ALTA is the latest concept by Rob Roy Cameron, developed by the MAD restaurant group. Specialising in open fire cooking with Northern Spanish influences, the restaurant will serve an informal menu of sharing plates drawing on Basque flavours, combined with British produce. Set over two floors, ALTA will accommodate more than 100 guests and include private dining rooms and a terrace.

On Foubert’s Place, Heard, a smash burger concept by two-Michelin-starred chef Jordan Bailey, has opened its first West End restaurant in a 1,300 sq ft unit. Alongside it, Marjorie’s has launched in an 830 sq ft space, offering 47 covers both indoors and alfresco. The French restaurant and wine bar is a collaboration between Michael Searle, Josh Anderson, and chef Giacomo Peretti.

Panadera, a Filipino bakery led by Florence Mae Maglanoc of Donia, has opened at 3 Hopkins Street in a 1,200 sq ft space. The bakery specialises in Pandesal-based items, with a compact layout featuring 15 covers and an open kitchen. Drinks include classic coffee options with Southeast Asian flavours.

At 92 Berwick Street, Breadstall Pizza has launched its first permanent site across 2,300 sq ft on two floors. Known for its 20-inch hybrid NY and Neapolitan-style pizzas sold by the quarter, the opening gives the brand a bricks-and-mortar presence in one of London’s most foot-trafficked areas.

Emma Matus, Head of Restaurant Leasing at Shaftesbury Capital, said: “Soho remains a hotspot for some of the best F&B concepts, not just in London or even the country, but globally. Carnaby Street has long been known for its unique and exclusive variety of retail, and to complement this, we are thrilled to announce two new independent, founder-led F&B concepts joining Foubert’s Place, and another landmark addition to Kingly Court. Through these F&B lettings, we are excited to demonstrate how high quality F&B concepts can be intertwined with retail to offer the consumer an enriched experience.”

Jordan Bailey, Founder of Heard, added: “Soho and Heard are the perfect duo, like a burger and fries. Soho is famous for its innovation, and we’re bringing more of that with a Michelin star-inspired but simple offer that office workers, locals, or international visitors will fall in love with. We’ve built a brand and a concept that champions the best ingredients with ultimate texture and taste, and being so close to Carnaby Street means we can take it to even more people, by being part of one of the UK’s most globally recognised neighbourhoods.”

These latest additions follow a series of recent F&B openings in Soho under Shaftesbury Capital, including HIMI, Nagare Coffee, and Donutelier. The landlord has also partnered with food writer and broadcaster Jimi Famurewa as official ambassador for the Soho food scene, an initiative launched in April to spotlight the area’s diverse culinary talent and hospitality entrepreneurship.
